Our 2017 Charity is The Superhero Foundation!

This year, we have decided to create the Superhero Foundation. This allows us to support more, smaller charities under one unifying theme. For the 2017 challenge we have decided to target the area of MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING in NORFOLK.

For more information please see our Superhero Foundation page.

2016 Charity - East Anglian Air Ambulance

East Anglian Air Ambulance are a 365 day-a-year lifesaving service working across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. Since the charity’s launch in 2000, the dedicated, highly skilled medical crews on the specially equipped helicopters have helped to save the lives of hundreds of people unfortunate enough to be involved in accidents or medical emergencies in this region.

2015 Charity - RNLI Lifeboats

Wells-next-the-Sea RNLI Lifeboat Station houses an all-weather lifeboat and an inshore lifeboat to save lives and assist with emergencies around Wells and off the North Norfolk coast. Manned by volunteer crews, the boats are ready to launch within minutes, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. This website will tell you more about the station and give you a taste of what we do and the traditions of the lifeboat service.

After nearly 25 years and over 140 rescues, Wells' Mersey-class lifeboat Doris M Mann of Ampthill is nearing the end of her service life. The RNLI will be replacing her with a new state-of-the-art Shannon class lifeboat in 2016 to provide a faster, safer and more effective life-saving service off the Norfolk coast for many years to come. Our volunteer crew and supporters are delighted with the decision and that much of the cost has already been raised through generous legacies and donations.

2014 Charity - Nelson's Journey

Our charity for 2014 was Nelson’s Journey. In total we raised £65,000 for the charity. This charity is dedicated to supporting bereaved children and young people throughout Norfolk. It is based in Norwich, and was founded in 1997, since when they have helped hundreds of children between the age of 0 to 17, who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life, for example, a parent or sibling.

One of the excellent ways that Nelson’s Journey builds up a relationship and helps to rebuild children’s lives is by running a series of weekend workshops at Hilltop Outdoor Centre on the coast at Sheringham.

At the Norfolk Hospice – Tapping House we support patients and their families living in NW Norfolk facing illnesses such as cancer, neurological and other life limiting conditions. The recent Care Quality Commission report tells us that patients, carers, volunteers and staff feel we are doing this very well. However, we are working in an environment of change with the new West Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group now formed and very active and at the same time we are moving towards the realisation of a full service, something greatly needed but not achieved in West Norfolk before.

We care for the person, encompassing the physical, emotional, practical and spiritual needs of the patient, their families and carers. For more information please visit
